Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms govern your use of DNSPeek. Please read them together with our privacy & cookies page.

1.Agreement

DNSPeek is operated by [legal entity name, registered address and company number] (“we”, “us”). By creating an account, creating a preview link or otherwise using DNSPeek you agree to these terms. If you use DNSPeek for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf, and “you” includes that organisation.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2.The service

DNSPeek helps you check a website on a new server before you change its DNS. It includes:

  • Preview links: a shareable URL that forwards requests to the server you name, sending the site's original host name, so the site can be viewed before DNS points to that server.
  • Migration QA: automated checks of a previewed site (HTTP status, SSL, redirects, content and similar findings).
  • Visual compare: screenshots of the live site and the new server, with the differences highlighted.
  • Notifications and DNS tracking: email and chat alerts (for example when DNS has propagated or a report is ready) and webhooks.
  • Team features and the API: shared workspaces, client comments on previews, and programmatic access with API keys.

Previews are for testing and review. They are not a hosting, CDN or production proxy service, and some sites (for example those behind bot protection) may not display correctly through a preview.

3.Accounts

  • You must give accurate information, keep your password and API keys secret, and tell us promptly about any unauthorised use.
  • You are responsible for everything done with your account and your API keys.
  • You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if higher.
  • You can download your data and delete your account at any time in Settings → Data & privacy.

4.Teams and workspaces

Content, seats and billing belong to a workspace. The workspace owner controls its members, billing and settings, and admins can manage members. Content you create in a team workspace belongs to that workspace: if you leave, or delete your account, it stays with the team.

A workspace owner is responsible for the members they invite or let join through a verified company domain, and for making sure those members follow these terms.

5.Acceptable use

Your use of DNSPeek must follow our Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short, you may preview only sites you own or are authorised to work on, and you must not use DNSPeek, or let anyone use it through your account, for phishing, impersonation, malware, illegal content (including child sexual abuse material), infringement, spam, attacks on other systems, reaching private networks, or getting around our safety checks, limits or enforcement.

Anyone can report a preview link through our abuse report form. We review reports, may keep a blocklist of domains and IP addresses, and may disable links or suspend workspaces and accounts, with or without notice, when we reasonably believe these rules are broken or the service is at risk. Where appropriate we will tell the workspace owner why. The policy explains how enforcement, copyright notices and appeals work.

6.Your content and websites

You keep all rights in your websites, content and data. You give us a limited licence to process them only as needed to run the service for you: to forward preview traffic, run checks, take screenshots, store reports and send the notifications you set up.

You confirm that you are entitled to preview and test every site and server you use with DNSPeek, and that sharing a preview link with others is allowed for that site.

7.Plans, billing and cancellation

  • Some features need a paid plan. Current plans and prices are shown on the pricing and billing pages.
  • Payments are processed by the payment provider shown when you pay. Where that provider acts as merchant of record, it sells the plan to you, charges any sales tax and its buyer terms also apply. Prices exclude taxes unless stated otherwise.
  • Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
  • Prepaid terms (1, 3 or 12 months, for example paid with crypto) do not renew automatically: renew before the term ends, or the workspace moves to the free plan after a short grace period.
  • You can cancel at any time in Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and the workspace then moves to the free plan without deleting its content.
  • When you upgrade or downgrade, the payment provider may charge or credit the difference as shown before you confirm.
  • Refunds: for a yearly plan or a prepaid term, we refund the whole payment within 14 days; after that, the rest minus the months you have used at the plan's monthly price. Refunds go only to the payment method you paid with and where that method can be refunded. Monthly plans stop renewing when cancelled, without partial refunds. Crypto payments are non-refundable. The details are in our Refund Policy.
  • Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank. While a chargeback or dispute is open we may suspend paid features of the workspace.
  • If we suspend or terminate an account or workspace because it was used for illegal activity or for a serious or repeated breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, fees already paid are not refunded, to the extent permitted by law.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal. If payment fails, paid features may be limited until it succeeds.

8.Data and privacy

How we use cookies and analytics is described on the privacy & cookies page. Preview traffic passes through our servers so that it can be forwarded; we do not sell your data.

You can export a copy of your personal data and delete your account yourself in Settings → Data & privacy. When you delete your account we remove your profile, sessions, API keys and the workspaces only you use; limited records may be kept where the law requires it (for example payment receipts).

9.Third-party services

DNSPeek relies on third parties such as payment providers, Google (sign-in), email providers, Crisp (support chat) and the chat services you connect (for example Slack, Telegram, Microsoft Teams, Discord or WhatsApp). Their own terms apply to your use of them, and we are not responsible for their services.

10.Availability and no warranty

We work to keep DNSPeek available and secure, but we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that previews will match how a site behaves in production. We may change, add or remove features; for significant changes that reduce a paid plan we will give reasonable notice.

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

11.Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, including losses caused by a migration or a DNS change decided on the basis of a preview or report.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the service in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in those 12 months, or 100 US dollars if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12.Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims by third parties arising from your content, the sites you preview, or your breach of these terms or of the law.

13.Suspension and termination

You may stop using DNSPeek and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if required by law, or to protect the service or others. When an account ends, its preview links stop working and its data is deleted as described in section 8, except where we must keep it.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as liability and indemnity) continue to apply.

14.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [country or state], and disputes are subject to the courts of [city, country], unless the consumer law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

15.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify account owners by email or in the app at least 14 days before they apply. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
