Refund Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains when we give money back for a DNSPeek plan. It is part of our Terms of Service. The short version is also shown next to each payment method before you pay.
1.Summary
- Yearly plans and prepaid terms: a full refund within 14 days of the payment. After that, we refund the rest minus the months you have used, at the plan's monthly price.
- Monthly plans: cancel at any time and your plan stops renewing at the end of the paid month. We do not refund part of a month by default.
- Only to the original payment method, and only where that method can technically be refunded (for example a card).
- Crypto payments are non-refundable.
- No refund when we close an account or workspace for illegal activity or a serious breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
2.Yearly plans and prepaid terms
This applies if you paid for a year, or for a prepaid term of 1, 3 or 12 months, by a method that can be refunded (see section 4).
- Within 14 days of the payment: ask us and we refund the whole payment.
- After 14 days: we refund what you paid minus the months you have used, charged at the plan's regular monthly price in the currency you paid in. The result is never below zero.
refund = amount paid − months used × monthly price
A month counts as used as soon as it starts. Months are calendar months from the payment date: if you paid on 10 March, your second month starts on 10 April, your third on 10 May, and so on (a payment on the 31st moves to the last day of shorter months). Months are counted up to the day we receive your request.
Example
A plan costs $9 a month or $99 a year. You pay $99 for a year and ask for a refund on day 40. You are in your second month, so 2 months are used: 2 × $9 = $18. Your refund is $99 − $18 = $81. After 11 months the months used add up to the full $99, so nothing is refundable.
A 1-month prepaid term is refunded in full within 14 days; after that the month has been used, so it is not refunded. In the rare case that a plan has no monthly price in the currency you paid in, we refund the unused days pro rata instead (amount paid × days left ÷ days in the period).
Once refunded, the plan ends: the workspace moves to the free plan and keeps its content. A period that has already ended is not refunded, and any earlier refund of the same payment is deducted.
3.Monthly plans
Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time in Billing. Cancelling stops the next renewal: you keep the paid features until the end of the month you paid for, then the workspace moves to the free plan. We do not refund part of the current month by default.
If something went wrong on our side, for example the service was unavailable for a long time or you were charged by mistake, write to us: we may refund at our discretion.
4.Refunds by payment method
A refund always goes back to the payment method you paid with, through the same payment provider. We cannot send it to a different card, account or wallet.
- Card payments, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal: refundable as described above. Where the payment provider is the seller of record, it issues the refund on our behalf.
- Crypto payments: non-refundable. Before you pay with crypto we ask you to confirm that you understand this.
- Bank transfer and other payments arranged with us directly: we agree how to return the money in writing when we accept the payment.
If the original method can no longer receive a refund (for example the card was closed), your card issuer or bank usually forwards the money to your new card or account; we cannot pay it out another way.
5.When we do not refund
We do not refund:
- payments made in cryptocurrency;
- part of the current month of a monthly plan, unless we decide to because of a problem on our side;
- periods that have already ended;
- fees for an account or workspace we suspend or terminate because it was used for illegal activity or for a serious or repeated breach of the Acceptable Use Policy, to the extent permitted by law;
- a payment that is already the subject of a chargeback or dispute (see section 9).
6.How to request a refund
Email support@dnspeek.link from the email address of your account, or ask the owner of the workspace to write to us. Please include:
- the workspace name;
- the date and amount of the payment, or the receipt from the payment provider;
- why you are asking for a refund (it helps us improve, and it does not affect the decision).
Only the workspace owner, or someone the owner authorises, can ask for a refund of that workspace's payments.
7.How long it takes
We aim to reply and process refunds within 5 business days of receiving a complete request. After that, the payment provider and your card issuer or bank need their own time: card refunds usually show up within 5 to 10 business days, and some issuers take longer. We will tell you when we have sent the refund.
8.Currency and fees
- Refunds are made in the currency you paid in. If your card or account uses another currency, your bank converts it at its own rate, so the amount you see may differ from what you paid.
- Where applicable, fees kept by the payment provider or charged by your bank (for example currency conversion or cross-border fees) may not be returned.
- Where taxes such as VAT were charged, the refunded share of the tax is returned with the refund where applicable.
9.Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank: most problems are solved faster that way. If you open a chargeback or dispute, the payment provider handles it under its own rules, and we may suspend paid features of the workspace while it is open. A payment refunded through a chargeback is not refunded again by us.
10.Your legal rights
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under consumer protection law that applies to you and cannot be excluded by contract. Where such a law gives you more, it takes precedence over this policy.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, tell account owners as described in the Terms of Service. A change applies to payments made after it takes effect.
